Get Hip to These Cats

by soulbydapound

It’s been awhile since this segment has had a post to accompany it but, better late than never. I feel like I have been with holding artist from you guys to head nod to. I may be late, I may be early but I know that somebody will read and hopefully have a new artist to vibe to. Now its time to get you hip to a few cats that get prime-time play on my itunes. (S.B. If you feel like there are artist out there that I’ve heard, need to get hip to or just your personal favorite then just leave a comment below)

Haha Lil B swag cook yea yea yea. I’m nothing hating on the former pack member but I cant get with it. While everyone cooks on the daily I’d rather feed into an Odd Future. Wolf gang’s leader Tyler The Creator is dope to some you may think he on some other sh*t but to most he maybe one of the younger mcees rapping about trippy content. Give homie a chance download his mixtape Bastard and here is one of my personal favorites from dude

You may know Chip Tha Ripper as the spitta on the verse on Kid Cudi’s hyyer. The fellow Cleveland rapper brings more to the table than just features. His mixtape The Cleveland Show gets heavy rotation on my itune not to mention that I actually got a chance to witness him live in NYC over the summer peep this mostly played tune that I zone to

I’m So Appalled, G.O.O.D Music Cypher and Troubles are just a few tracks the ATLien has ripped. Cyhi Da Prynce get hip to him asap. His lyrical content is mind blowing man. Honestly alot of the new school cats bring heat but this guy causes a fire in the kitchen. Thats the best way to describe him but don’t take me word for it peep him for you’re self. Peep his mixtape Royal Flush

The Power of Words

by soulbydapound

I have been a fan of the Clipse since my freshmen year of high school; getting the opportunity to finally see them perform live was grand. They took a crowd of college students from the start of their career all the way to the present day. Big Sean has been under the radar for a while now but, the minute  he begins to heavy rotation on the radio I believe the city of Detroit will be ecstatic to have someone to cheer for since the Pistons fell off. Wale ripped the stage again but I still feel he doesn’t earn the respect that he should. Usually when I sit down with my peers and discuss rap I end up hearing Wale is only a commercial rapper which I feel is untrue. In the end everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

THE LAZERS ARE COMING

by soulofmischief

A short video of the Major Lazer tour, the dudes are goin hammmm… Diplo and Skerrittbwoy provide these crowds with non-stop energy. I love the fact that essentially its dancehall music mixed with a bit of house that’s inserted to these crowds veins. Two of my favorite genre’s mixed together and it can’t get no better than that.

The True Meaning of GREATNESS!!

by soulAREclips

Samuel Simmons, a.k.a SES Da Great is a young educated African American male hailing from Newburgh, NY.  He grew up in the streets just like many other under-privledged youth, but found balance by focusing on school, sports, and his passion for music.  Raised from a family of singers, poets, and rappers, his interests in music heightened with age.  SES enrolled in college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he met up with a few young men who were into recording and production.  From that point on Sam who had been nicknamed SES from his initials, became SES Da Great, and his music exemplifies his GREATNESS.

Lyrical Ballads Hip Hop’s Return

by soulbydapound

It seems to me like January 1st was mixtape heaven. Left and right people were dropping new music on the first to start the year off right. My ear for good music has been on point since I was a young laid  and  after showing artist on the rise such as Mike Posner, Blu, Big Sean and G5-Gi I figured why not bring some more flavor to your eardrum with some more young gunnas. First up to bat is.

P.DiZzZy presents “I Found Myself” after listening to this tape a couple songs stuck out me like I lost freestyle,The Replacement and Stray. His grind and love for music was definitely showcase on this tape. Don’t believe peep the tape for yourself folks and send him feedback on his twitter page. twitter.com/PdiZzZy
